رسالة وصلتني من مراسلة صحيفة الصاندي تايمز البريطانية بعد ان خاطبتها بخصوص مصداقية حملتهم التي تتبنى فيها الصحيفة علاج الاطفال العراقيين المتضررين بعد الاحتلال الاميركي، وكان ردها سريعا على استفسارتي حول كيفية مساعدة اكبر عدد من الاطفال المصابين بجروح نتيجة تعرضهم لانفجارات السيارات المفخخة، وها انا اعرض الرسالة الاصلية  والنسخة المترجمة من قبلي وعذرا مقدما لعدم وجود الحرفية في الترجمة .

وانا نيابة عن الصحيفة ادعو كل من لديه طفل مصاب بجروح بسبب تعرضه الى انفجار سيارة مفخخة اوتعرض لقصف الجيش الاميركي ان يراسلني    على نفس هذا الموقع او ان يكتب تعليقاااااااااااااا 

مع المرفقات التالية :

اولا : تقرير طبي يبين حالة الطفل المرضية وتاريخ اصابته والعلاج الذي تلقاه ، ان كان باللغة العربية او الانكليزية .

ثانيا : نبذة مختصرة جدا عن تاريخ ومكان تعرض الطفل  للاصابة .

ثالثا : كتابة  عنوان ولي امر الطفل بشكل واضح مع رقم الهاتف  .

كما ارجو مراعاة الشروط التالية :

اولا : ان لايزيد عمر الطفل على عشر سنوات .

ثانيا : لا تقبل حالات العوق الولادي  او التشوه الخلقي او الامراض السرطانية او الامراض العادية .

انا بدوري سأحيل التقارير الطبية الى طبيب مختص لغرض ابداء الرأي فيما يخص امكانية علاجها ام ان الحالات ميؤس منها وذلك لنتيح الفرصة لاطفال اخرين يمكنهم الاستفادة من هذه المبادرة الانسانية  ، وسأقوم بارسالها الى السيدة هالة جابر لغرض مساعدتها على اختيار اكبر عدد ممكن من الاطفال الذين يمكن علاجهم، وستتصل حينها  بذوي الاطفال .

فيما يلي نص رسالة السيدة هالة جابر لغرض نشرها   والتي تتبنى فيها حملة علاج الاطفال العراقيين عن طريق الصحيفة :

Dear Sir,

My name is Hala Jaber and I am a foreign Correspondent for the Sunday Times Newspaper in London. A few months ago my newspaper and I issued an appeal for a little Iraqi girl called Shams Kareem who lost her mother and eye sight in a car bomb in Baghdad and whose face was badly disfigure from the burns she endured at the time.

The appeal raised sufficient funds for Shams not only to be brought to London and be treated, but to also have enough money in the fund to ensure she can receive the necessary treatment she requires in the years to come -- as she will need further surgery over a long period of time given her injuries.

Sham's story and the success of her appeal touched our hearts and those of thousands of people who contributed to ensure she was helped. Her story, also inspired us to plan for a larger appeal -- to run between the end of November throughout December -- as the newspaper's Christmas appeal -- aimed at helping other Iraqi children hurt and injured by war and violence in Iraq.

The reason you cannot find anything on our websites yet is that we have not begun the actual appeal and we are at the stages of compiling the cases and stories -- I am currently in Baghdad to locate and identify such cases -- before we start publicizing them in the newspaper and our website.

During my trip there I will be looking to find cases of children injured in violence, bombs, war etc. Those who need further surgery or medical help but which cannot be found or received in Iraq. We are hopping to help such children whose treatment or further surgery would grant the child back something, in other words improve his /her life in some way. I am trying to find a variety of cases and if you know of any such children I would be grateful if you can direct or me to them or put me in touch with them in some way or another.

The Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) will be our partners in this endeavor in as far as helping us with private fund raising as well as extending their medical expertise where cases are concerned.

There will be a committee of mixed medics and ST executives who will go through the list of cases to decided on the cases most suitable to be helped -- we aim to start bringing the cases to the UK as of February 2010 - and the cases to first recieve treatment will be based on pure medical merit exclusive of any political considerations.

We are also hoping to be able to bring over the child's doctor as well as a parent/guardian of the child. The doctor will benefit in receiving a month's training in the field concerned to be able to go back and help others in the future . This at least is our aim as a starter and we hope to expand this idea in the future.
